Fayetteville police search for suspect in attempted home break-in

Fayetteville police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man they say attempted to break into a home in the 100 block of Brewster Drive earlier this month.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man they say attempted to break into a home in the 100 block of Brewster Drive earlier this month.

According to police, the suspect attempted to break into the home by prying a door open. When he was unsuccessful, and apparently scared away by the victim's alarm, the man left the scene.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s or 40s, thin build, with short hair, a mustache and a tattoo on the back of his neck. On surveillance video he was seen wearing jeans, a baseball hat and a plaid jacket.

Anyone with information about the attempted break-in or the suspect is asked to contact police at 910-433-1005 or Crime Stoppers at 910-438-8477.
