Fayetteville police search for suspect following armed robbery

Fayetteville police announced Friday their ongoing search for a suspect who robbed a Big Lots and held employees at gunpoint on March 26.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who robbed a Big Lots and held employees at gunpoint on March 26.

Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to report of an armed robbery at a Big Lots located at 3910 Raeford Road around 10 p.m.

According to police, the suspect approached employees in the parking lot as they were leaving for the night. With a pistol in hand, he forced them back into the business and demanded money.

Authorities said the suspect fled the scene in a car of an unknown make.

The car was possibly white, witnesses say.

Police are searching for the suspect, who was described as medium build and 6 feet 4 inches or taller. He was wearing a dark hoodie, blue pants, a mask and gloves.

Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect shown in the photos and video.
