Fayetteville police looking for truck after man grabs child, drives off

Fayetteville police were dispatched to a "suspicious circumstances" call in the area of Fort Bragg Road and Devers Street on Tuesday night.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are looking for a pickup truck after they got a report of a child being taken.

Police were dispatched to a “suspicious circumstances” call in the area of Fort Bragg Road and Devers Street on Tuesday night.

Police said a young boy, around 5 to 6 years old, was playing outside in the Systel parking lot with a remote-controlled car when a man grabbed the child and put him in a dark, older, 4-door truck and drove away.

A witness last saw the vehicle on McPherson Avenue, heading towards Bragg Boulevard. Police provided a picture of the truck.

WRAL has reached out to authorities in an effort to find out if the child is still missing or in danger. An Amber Alert has not been issued.
