Fayetteville police looking for suspect after man shot Tuesday

Fayetteville police are asking for the public's help locating a suspect in a shooting that happened Tuesday afternoon.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are asking for the public's help locating a suspect in a shooting that happened Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were called to The Corner Store at 2118 Cumberland Road at 4:48 p.m. in reference to a shooting. They arrived and found a man who had been shot. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to his abdomen. His identification has not been released.

A preliminary investigation found the victim was outside the store when a vehicle entered the parking lot. A white male and a Black male exited the vehicle, got into an altercation with the victim and shot him.

Detectives said the vehicle in the photos appears to be a 2000-model Ford Escape. Anyone with information in this investigation is asked to contact Det. R. Southerland at 910-709-1851 or Crimestoppers at 910-483-8477.
