Officials said that the man was sitting in his car looking for change when he was approached by three men. One of the men pointed a gun at the man sitting in his car and demanded money.

The man in his car refused to give the man with the gun money and started to drive off. While he was driving off, at least two other men outside of the car fired shots at the victim, according to officials.

The man driving the car suffered one gunshot wound, but his injuries were not life-threatening.

The three men who officials believe took part in the attempted robbery were driving a newer model white sedan. Fayetteville Police obtained photos from the car wash's security camera of the three men.

Anyone with information regarding this shooting is encouraged to reach out to Detective H. Vernon with the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-758-6700.
