FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police said they are investigating after a woman said she shot her ex-boyfriend Friday night.

Officials said they got a call of a shooting at around 9:50 p.m. at the 800 block of Ronald Reagan Drive. Officials said a woman called the 911 center and said she shot her ex-boyfriend.

When officials arrived, they found the woman waiting at the front door and a man inside unresponsive with a gunshot wound. The man, who was not identified, was sent to the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he was listed in serious condition.

The name of the woman who made the call and said she shot her boyfriend was also withheld. Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Aggravated Assault Unit were investigating late Friday.
