Fayetteville police investigate fatal hit and run
Fayetteville police are investigating after a vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian Tuesday evening at 321 North Eastern Blvd.
Posted — UpdatedFAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police were investigating after a pickup truck struck and killed a pedestrian Tuesday evening at 321 North Eastern Blvd.
Paramedics transported Carson Harrell, 63, to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The pickup struck Harrell at about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday and then fled the scene, police said. The impact knocked Harrell about 30 feet onto a grassy area off the side of the street.
A witness said the truck drove a few blocks before turning onto a side street. He couldn't provide a description of the truck.
Police said Harrell was homeless.
