Fayetteville police identify victim in deadly shooting

Fayetteville, N.C. — Fayetteville Police have identified a man who was found shot to death at Filter Plant Drive and Ames Street. Maurice Williams, 48, of Fayetteville, was found unresponsive in the roadway at about 12:25 a.m. on Thursday. Medical personnel pronounced Williams dead at the scene, according to Officer Jeremy Strickland with the Fayetteville Police Department.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact them. The Fayetteville/Cumberland County Crimestoppers program is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
