A Fayetteville police officer accidentally hit a pedestrian with his patrol vehicle, police announced early Saturday.

The officer, whose name was not released, was driving in the area of Owen and Village drives when the accident occurred.
The pedestrian, whose name was also not released, was injured, but police would not say what the person's condition was.
The officer is assigned to the Campbellton District Patrol Division, police said. No other information was released.
