FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville man has been identified as a suspect in the armed robberies of two stores earlier this month, police said Friday.

Mondale Williams, 25, is wanted in connection with the robberies of a Subway restaurant at 3450 Bragg Blvd. on Jan. 16 and a CVS drug store at 4923 Raeford Road on Wednesday. Police said that a gun was used in both robberies, but no one was injured.

Williams faces two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Williams, who is homeless and unemployed, has been seen with a silver or light-colored Suburban or other GM SUV.

He is described as a black man, 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 210 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Police said he is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about Williams' whereabouts should call Fayetteville police or Crime Stoppers at 910-410-8477. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous tips leading to arrests in felony cases.

Williams served two years in prison for 2007 convictions for second-degree kidnapping and felony breaking-and-entering, according to state Department of Correction records. He also got a two-month sentence for three 2005 felony breaking-and-entering convictions.

He earned four infractions in prison, including two for assaulting a person with a weapon, DOC records show.
