<b>FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.</b> — A Fayetteville man wanted for statutory rape surrendered to police Wednesday evening.

Zayrain Carpenter, 37, was arrested on statutory sex offense, crimes against nature and taking indecent liberties with a child in connection with a case involving a 14-year-old girl.<br />

He was in the Cumberland County County Detention Center Thursday morning under a $77,500 bond.
