FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police in Fayetteville were asking for the public's help in finding a man suspected in the fatal shooting of a victim who was killed at his home in late June.

Investigators said in a written statement Friday that Marcus A. Guion, 30, has been charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a deadly weapon, and felony conspiracy.

Guion was considered to be armed and dangerous, and police asked anyone with information on his whereabouts to call 911.

Officers were called a reported shooting in the the 2100 block of Henry Street in the Massey Hill section of Fayetteville on June 26 about 11:30 p.m. and found Michael S. Beale with gunshot wounds.

Beale, 48, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he died.

His home was riddled with bullets. Several shots were fired through a front bay window, and there were at least four bullet holes in the two doors on the porch.

A neighbor told WRAL News he heard a woman screaming and then found Beale wounded inside the home.

Fayetteville police Sgt. Shawn Strepay said Beale was home with a female friend, but investigators are still trying to determine if he was inside the house or outside when he was shot.

Investigators are also trying to determine a motive for the shooting, Strepay said. They hope to gather more information from the woman, he said.

"The witness at the time was very distraught, obviously," he said. "They're giving her some time to kind of collect herself and her thoughts, and that's something they're working towards determining."

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-818-2543 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.
