Fayetteville man killed in fiery crash

A Fayetteville man died Tuesday night in a fiery crash with an 18-wheeler in Bladen County.

BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. — A Fayetteville man died Tuesday night in a fiery crash with an 18-wheeler in Bladen County.

State troopers said Christopher Lee Stevens, 35, of 975 Lisa Ave., rolled through a stop sign and pulled into the path of the truck on N.C. Highway 20. Stevens' car was trapped under the truck and caught fire.

Two passengers in the car, Heather Taylor, 28, and Micayla Stevens, 4, were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Neither had life-threatening injuries, troopers said.

The driver of the truck, Thomas Knight, 73, of Fayetteville, was not injured. His truck was damaged in the fire.
