Fayetteville man held under $3M bond after facing 90 felony, misdemeanor charges

A Fayetteville man was arrested Tuesday and charged in connection with more than 90 crimes that occurred in the city and surrounding areas.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville man was arrested Tuesday and charged in connection with more than 90 crimes that occurred in the city and surrounding areas.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department, Hope Mills Police Department, Spring Lake Police Department, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshals arrested Anthony Cornell Ross, 28, of the 2500 block of Elcar Drive and charged him with:

  • Ten counts of obtaining property by false pretenses
  • Nine counts of felony conspiracy
  • Six counts of felony possession of stolen goods
  • Five counts each of breaking and entering, financial card theft, forgery of an endorsement and trafficking stolen identities
  • Four counts each of robbery with a dangerous weapon, identity theft, possession of a firearm by a felon and fraudulent deposit of money
  • Three counts each of larceny after breaking and entering, forgery of an instrument, financial card fraud and uttering a forced instrument
  • Two counts each of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, unlawfully obtaining a credit card, larceny from a person and larceny
  • One count each of driving without a license, parole violation, attempted obtaining property by false pretenses, misdemeanor hit-and-run, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, failure to maintain lane control, receiving money improperly from a bank machine, larceny from a motor vehicle and breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.

Ross was being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under $3.1 million secured bond.

Authorities did not release the details of the crimes that led to the charges against Ross.
