Fayetteville Man Charged With Sex Crimes Against a Child
WILMINGTON, N.C. — A Fayetteville man has been sentenced to 40 years in federal prison on child pornography charges, authorities said Thursday.

Daniel Nicholas Buczkowski, 54, was found guilty in January of 27 counts of transportation of child pornography.

A technician at a computer repair shop found pictures on Buczkowski's laptop computer in May 2007 of young children being sexually abused. Authorities said the laptop was transported between Fayetteville and Iraq, where Buczkowski worked as a contractor.

Fayetteville police also charged Buczkowski in May 2007 in an alleged rape of a 10-year-old girl. He pleaded guilty to first-degree forcible rape, first-degree forcible sexual offense and taking indecent liberties with a minor in the case and is awaiting sentencing on those state charges.

The girl spoke at Buczkowski's federal sentencing hearing on Wednesday, saying that he sexually assaulted her almost daily for three years and frequently showed her child pornography.
