FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville man was found guilty Tuesday on charges stemming from an arrest in which authorities found eight loaded firearms and drugs at a local daycare center he owned.

Reshod Jamar Everett, 36, is facing at least 20 years in prison after authorities accused him of trafficking drugs and hiding dangerous weapons inside the in-home daycare center, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Federal agents seized drugs — cocaine, marijuana, THC and the painkiller tramadol, — cash and the eight guns from Everett's property. Some of the guns were high-powered rifles, according to the DOJ.

In federal court, a witness said that one of the rifles, a PS90, was "powerful enough to pierce body armor."

Investigators initially began looking into Everett after a traffic stop in 2018. They stopped co-defendant Alvin Milton Davis while he was leaving the apartment complex with drugs and weapons in his car. After stopping Davis, investigators obtained a search warrant for Everett's home, and that's when they found the weapons, the DOJ newsrelease said.

“Armed drug trafficking poses a significant danger to the community, particularly when loaded guns and drugs are stored at an in-home daycare,” said Michael Easley, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina in a statement.
