Fayetteville man accused of stabbing ex in head

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville man was arrested over the weekend for stabbing his ex-girlfriend in the head, police

Timothy David Rickman, 29, of the 5700 block of Winding Creed Drive, was charged Sunday with breaking and entering, second-degree kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, assault by strangulation and assault inflicting serious injury.

Investigators said Rickman kicked open the door to the apartment of his ex-girlfriend, Michelle Deak. He hit her in the face, kicked her and also tried to strangle her, they said. Rickman also burned Deak on her arm with a lighter, authorities said.

Deak's medical condition was not immediately clear.

Rickman was in the Cumberland County jail Monday under $50,000 bond.
