FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Spartanburg County sheriff's deputies apprehended a Fayetteville homicide suspect in South Carolina Tuesday.

Terry Lee Broussard Jr., 25, of 114 Cumberland St., faces first-degree murder charges in the death of Ronnell Wright, 40, last Saturday.

Broussard was being held in the Spartanburg County jail while awaiting extradition to North Carolina.

Police were called out to a dispute among neighbors and guests at Wright's house at 2521 Vestal Ave. around 8:25 p.m. Officers calmed the situation down and cleared the scene, but about 15 minutes later, another 911 call came in from the same address.

Officers found Wright lying in a carport. He had been stabbed in the abdomen and died while being transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, police said.

State Department of Correction records show that Broussard was also convicted of two counts of armed robbery and served a little more than 4 years. He was released in December 2008.
