Fayetteville, N.C. — A Fayetteville family had to break a window to escape a fire early Wednesday at their home at 114 Mike St.
The fire appeared to have started in the kitchen, according to Eric Tipton, battalion commander with the Fayetteville Fire Department.
The baby's cries woke the rest of the family, and the mother kicked out the window to lead her family to safety.
No one was injured. The cause of the fire remained under investigation Wednesday afternoon.
