FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police asked Friday for the public's help to solve the year-old slaying of a homeless man.

Detectives said that Terrance Omar Plummer Jr., 22, was stabbed and cut to death inside a vacant apartment at 334 Rhew St. around dawn on May 30, 2010. Officers responding to calls about a possible break-in found his body.

Plummer was last seen alive riding in a silver or gray, late-model Volkswagen Bug convertible, police said. Witnesses said he was arguing with the driver, who was a white man who looked like a soldier.

Anyone with information about Plummer's death is asked to call Fayetteville police detectives at 910-587-3254 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous tips that solve cases.
