Fayetteville convenience store robbed; woman sexually assaulted

Police said Thursday they were searching for a man who held up a Fayetteville convenience store early Tuesday and sexually assaulted a woman.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police said Thursday they were searching for a man who held up a Fayetteville convenience store early Tuesday and sexually assaulted a woman.

A man brandishing a handgun went into the store, which is in vicinity of the 6000 block of Yadkin Road, at about 1 a.m. and stole merchandise and cash, police said. Before leaving the store, he pulled a woman into a back room and assaulted her.

The man fled down Fillyaw Road toward Reilly Road in a dark-colored Chevrolet Corsica or Pontiac Grand Am, police said.

He was described as black with medium to dark skin tone, 25 to 35 years old and 5 feet, 7 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall. He was wearing a black jacket with "Baller" written on the back, dark jeans and a dark cap.
