FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville City Council members on Monday decided to move forward with an incentives proposal to lure a luxury hotel to the city

City leaders said a luxury hotel is necessary because of the influx of new people to the area from the base realignment plan.

Incentives could include property tax grant-backs and public money to build water and sewer lines.

The council will revisit the proposal in late November or early December, according to city spokeswoman Jackie Tuckey.
