Fayetteville businesswoman charged with fraud

The president of S & K Home Care, Inc. was arrested on Tuesday on felony and misdemeanor tax charges.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The president of S & K Home Care, Inc. was arrested on Tuesday on felony and misdemeanor tax charges.

Shuvon Rena Mitchell, 39, of 2633 Plum Ridge Road was alleged to have abused over $100,000 in the month of January alone.

On July 17, she was charged with one count of embezzlement of state property, five counts of willful failure to file N.C. corporation tax returns and six counts of willful failure to file N.C. individual income tax returns.

Charges also suggest Mitchell willfully failed to her tax returns for the tax years of 2013 to 2017.

Mitchell has been bonded out with a $10,000 bond. Her first appearance in court was scheduled for Friday in Wake County District Court.
