FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Woodpeckers baseball team announced plans Thursday to temporarily transform their ballpark into a 9-hole golf course.

The course, which will be called "The Links at Segra Stadium," will be open Oct. 16-18.

There will be nine platforms, one for each hole, that golfers will tee off from aiming at holes located throughout the outfield concourse. Each golfer will get three shots per hole. There will be a scoring system based on where your best ball lands on each hole. The longest hole is 130 yards.

All golfers must provide their own clubs and no drivers or woods are permitted.

The cost to play is $100 per group, with a maximum of four golfers per group.

Social distancing will be required between groups, who are not allowed to pass each other. Face coverings are required on entry into the stadium and when social distancing is not possible. Golf balls will be sanitized after each use.

The Woodpeckers are the Class A Advanced minor league affiliate of the Houston Astros.
