Fayetteville, N.C. — Fayetteville Regional Airport has received more than $1.1 million in federal stimulus funds for infrastructure improvements, Seventh District Congressman Mike McIntyre said Wednesday.
The money will be used to renovate the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Facility at the airport, which is more than 30 years old. An initial $549,338 was awarded for the project in January.
"These federal funds will help keep the Fayetteville Regional Airport safe and secure," McIntyre said in a statement.
