Fayette-Mom: Time to make the snow angels
Borrowing a line from the movie Titanic, I am what you would call more of an indoor kind of girl. My idea of camping is staying in a budget motel for the night.

My idea of camping is staying in a budget motel for the night.
And playing in the snow? Well, I like to get all bundled up, walk out onto the white, powdery blanket, snap a few photos of the kids, and then head in for some hot chocolate.
Snow angels? Snowball fights? Sledding? No, no thank you.
But really, do I have a choice? My husband works in TV news, so when it snows, he is on the air. That leaves me home with the kids to make all their winter weather dreams come true.
Hmpf.
Greg Fishel starts to talk about the potential for snow, and my bad mood begins.
I think of mounds of wet clothing that has to be dried several times of day.
I dread the frozen fingers and toes, the raw winds leaving my lips and cheeks chapped.
I sigh as I contemplate all of the work that will not get done when schools are closed.
But then, I hear my kids’ screams of delight when they wake up and see everything outside their window covered in white.
I listen to their echoing laughter as they pelt each other in the face with snowballs.
I force myself to get invested in the making of the perfect snowman.
And once again, my children have taught me something.
I can be an outdoor girl. At least for their sake.
