Fayette-Mom: Summer ... done

I’ve gone swimming, jumped waves and built sand castles.

I’ve bought ice cream cones, slurped Popsicles, and mixed sweet tea.

I’ve watched movies, read books, and rented video games.

I’ve finger painted, played with play dough , and colored with sidewalk chalk.

I’ve made field trips to museums and the library, and I’ve hosted play dates.

OK summer, you win. I am exhausted …. and about out of ideas.

I’ve really enjoyed the relaxed schedule of summer, but truth be told, I am ready to get back into the school routine.

And while I know the kids have enjoyed all of our activities, even they say they are ready to go back to school.

So this week, I’ll back the pool bag one more time, and I’ll continue to let the kids stay up a little late, and sleep a little longer in the mornings.

But next week, it’s back to business. And I say, bring it on!
