Father's Day forecast: Beautiful but very hot
The forecast for Father's Day is bright and sunny -- but it will be very hot, according to WRAL meteorologist Peta Sheerwood.
Posted — UpdatedAfter several milder days, temperatures will top out right around 90 degrees in Raleigh on Sunday. It will be a good day to seek shade or spend time at the pool.
At noon, temperatures will already be hot, in the mid 80s. Temperatures will peak around 5 p.m., and overnight temperatures will stay warm, in the 70s.
According to Sheerwood, there is a small chance for an evening shower north of the Triangle, but the sky should be blue for any outdoor events planned for dads.
The week ahead will be hot as well, with highs in the upper 80s or low 90s for the entire week.
Monday will be dry like Sunday. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, a better chance for storms moves in, but it won't be constantly rainy like last week. Next weekend looks partly cloudy but mostly dry.
