Fatal crash reported in Johnston County
One person was killed and another injured during a single-car crash Monday in Johnston County, authorities said.

The accident occurred on Buffalo Road near Sullivan Road. One victim died at the scene, and a second victim was rushed for medical treatment to a local hospital. The patient's condition was pending.
Authorities have not publicly disclosed how the wreck occurred.
It was at least the second reported fatal crash in the Triangle of the new year.
Early Monday morning, a Wake County man was killed and his brother injured when their car crashed on Rolesville Road at Riley Hill Road around 3 a.m. in Wendell. Christopher Brown, 23, and his brother, Edwin Scott, 37, were ejected from the 2006 Volvo sedan when the crash occurred.
Brown died at the scene. Scott was rushed for treatment to WakeMed, where he had been listed in serious condition.
