If you're trying to lose weight, experts say try intermittent fasting
Intermittent fasting has become a popular health and fitness trend for those trying to drop a couple pounds. The diet plan is all about timing and only eating certain hours of the day.
Does intermittent fasting actually work?
In intermittent fasting, you fluctuate between periods of eating and fasting. This might mean eating during an eight-hour window then fasting for the other 16 hours of the day, fasting one full day a week or limiting food intake to 500 calories per fasting period.
Fasting could increase overall health
Research shows that intermittent fasting may lower risk of obesity, fatty liver disease, diabetes and cancer. The lifespan of rats increases when they fast every other day.
