The weather is getting warmer and farm fields are bursting with fresh produce as farmers' markets across the region open for business.

Use this list of farmers markets in North Carolina to find local fruits, vegetables, meats, baked goods, plants, crafts and more in your area while getting out of the house and enjoying the fresh air.

Farmers markets in North Carolina

There are so many farmers markets in North Carolina, from the large State Farmers Market in Raleigh to markets in Cary, Apex, Fuquay-Varina, Wendell, Durham, Chapel Hill and more.

Wake County farmers' markets

The State Farmers' Market at 1201 Agriculture St. is open Monday through Saturday from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. snf Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors can enjoy 75 acres of indoor/outdoor specialty shops, restaurants and a garden center, where they can buy fruits, vegetables, meats and gift products from across the state.
Moore Square Market at 200 S. Blount St. in downtown Raleigh is open from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. every Sunday from May 14 through Oct. 22. Its website says you can pick up local produce and treats, meet up with friends and listen to live music.
The Cary Downtown Farmers' Market is open rain or shine on Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon. The market is currently being held at a temporary location on 200 E. Chatham Street in Cary.
Phillips Farms Farmers Market in Cary is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests can enjoy the Family Fun Park and "Shop & Play Saturdays" that feature several of the area’s popular farms, artisans, vendors, activities, food trucks, beer, wine and live music.
The Apex Farmers' Market at Beaver Creek Crossings is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon.
The Midtown Farmers' Market at The Commons in North Hills is open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon until Nov. 4. Its website says it features locally produced breads, desserts, produce, nuts, dairy, meats, crafts and more.
Raleigh City Farm at 800 N. Blount St. hosts a pay-what-you-can farmstand on Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. as well as other events. Guests can enjoy a tour of the farm when they visit.
The Wake Forest Farmers' Market at 235 S. Taylor St. is open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
The Western Wake Farmers' Market at 280 Town Hall Drive in Morrisville is open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.
The Holly Springs Farmers Market at 300 West Ballentine St. is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon.
The Fuquay-Varina Growers Market at 121 N. Main St. is held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The Wendell Market at East and West Campen Street is open the first Thursday of the month from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Zebulon Artisan Market at 1003 N. Arendell Ave. is open every Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Downtown Rolesville Farmers Market at 302 S. Main St. is held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Durham County farmers' markets

The Durham Farmers' Market at Durham Central Park is open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.
The South Durham Farmers' Market at the Greenwood Commons Shopping Center is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon, year-round, rain or shine.
The Durham Roots Farmers' Market at 1901 Hillandale Rd. is touted as the only farmers market with 100% Durham farmers and Durham watershed farmers. The market is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon.
The Black Farmers' Market supports and protects Black farmers and entrepreneurs. Markets are held in Durham at Durham Tech Community College on the first and third Sunday of every month. They also have markets in Raleigh at the Southeast Raleigh YMCA on the second and fourth Sunday of the month.

Orange County farmers' markets

The Chapel Hill Farmers' Market is open all year at ​201 S. Estes Drive on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon and Tuesdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Carrboro Farmers' Market is open Saturdays from 7 a.m. to noon and Wednesdays from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
The Eno River Farmers' Market in Hillsborough is open year round on Saturdays from 10 a.m. until noon.

Outside of the Triangle

The Fearrington Farmers' Market is in Fearrington Village, right off 15-501, halfway between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro. The market is open every Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Chatham Mills Farmers' Market at Historic Chatham Mills in downtown Pittsboro, is open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.
The Clayton Farm & Community Market is held every Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Horne Square at 348 Main Street.
Murchison Road Community Farmers Market is held weekly on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1047 Murchison Road in Fayetteville.
Pittsboro Farmers' Market is open Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. under the solar panels at The Plant in Pittsboro at 220 Lorax Lane.
