MIDLAND, MICHIGAN — Midland Police are trying to figure out how a little girl died.

The 20-month-old, identified by her family as Delilah Bieski, was taken to MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland on Thursday. Police were called at that time.

Her injuries were so severe she had to be taken to Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw.

Delilah's family says she passed away over the weekend, after donating her organs.

Her great aunt, Jessica Cooper, said Delilah brought joy to everyone around her and they are still struggling to understand how anyone could hurt her.

"She was absolutely the most beautiful little girl and blue eyes that would melt anybody's heart. She had a smile that lit up the room and she brightened everybody's mood, you know she was just one of those that she just brought love everywhere she went," Cooper said.

The family has chosen not to say much about how she died as the police investigation continues, except to say her injuries appear to not be the result of an accident.

Monday her family had to make her funeral arrangements. They do need help with funeral expenses. Click on the 'Related Link' with this story to learn more.

"My heart aches so much for Chelsae and Zach and my brother and sister-in-law, I mean it just aches, you know it's broken," Cooper said.
