Family offers reward to find driver who hit cyclist

The family of a bicyclist injured in a hit-and-run east of Angier has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.

WILLOW SPRINGS, N.C. — The family of a bicyclist injured in a hit-and-run east of Angier has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.

Authorities said that a car hit Carl Demarais from behind at White Memorial Church and Landmark roads on July 30. Demarias was knocked unconscious, and the motorist left the scene.

Demarais suffered a concussion and broken pelvis and ribs. He must undergo physical therapy to learn to walk again.
