Family holds vigil for Fayetteville man killed one month ago

Officers found Lonnie Gregory, 31, outside the Rocky Top Bar, 2000 Gillespie St. in Fayetteville, in the early morning hours of Sept. 6. He had been shot once in the chest.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The family of a man shot one month ago planned a vigil Tuesday to mark his passing and to press for an arrest.

Officers found Lonnie Gregory, 31, outside the Rocky Top Bar, 2000 Gillespie St. in Fayetteville, in the early morning hours of Sept. 6. He had been shot once in the chest.

His family planned to gather outside the bar Tuesday evening.

Police have said they believe Gregory was shot during a robbery attempt. They have not made any arrests.
