Family, friends mourn 22-year-old killed in Fayetteville shooting
A woman was arrested Wednesday and charged in connection with the death of 22-year-old Sierra Harper, who was shot and killed in Fayetteville on Saturday, May 7.
Posted — UpdatedMicaiah Henderson-Palmer, 23, of Fayetteville, was charged with felony accessory after the fact. She was being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond.
Earlier this month, 22-year-old Jaylin McLaughlin was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after police said he shot Harper multiple times in broad daylight.
Colleen Harper told WRAL News her daughter died in an argument that should never happened.
Family said Sierra Harper and her girlfriend got into an argument. When things escalated, her girlfriend called for backup.
“The girlfriend called friends, and then the friends called the baby's father," said Colleen Harper. "Then he came and did what he did.”
Colleen Harper's mother has no words for her daughter's killer.
“I believe in heaven and I believe I’m going and I’ll see her again," said Colleen Harper. "She’s with my mom and my dad and my sisters. That’s truly what's keeping me going."
