RALEIGH, N.C. — North and southbound lanes of Falls of Neuse Road are back open after an accident shut them down Tuesday afternoon.

The accident happened on the southbound lane of Falls of Neuse Road near Mile Marker 14 of I-540.

According to Raleigh police, the wreck involved four cars. Police said the accident started after one of the cars involved rear ended a van carrying a trailer.

The van then went sideways, causing two other vehicles to collide. A pool chemical van also overturned and spilled chemicals it was carrying.

A hazmat team was called to the accident and has since cleaned the chemicals from the roadway.

Two people were taken to the hospital. One person because they didn't feel well, the other with minor injuries.

Sky5 was over the scene as crews were assessing the accident.
