Wade Avenue reopens after fallen tree closed road
A fallen tree closed Wade Avenue in both directions between Dixie Trail and Dogwood Lane Tuesday afternoon.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A fallen tree closed Wade Avenue in both directions between Dixie Trail and Dogwood Lane for more than four hours Tuesday.
Raleigh police said the tree hit a van and knocked down power lines as it fell and was lying completely across the road.
The driver of the van said he had no time to avoid the tree. He is expected to be OK.
The tree was cleared and power was restored to most residents just after 9 p.m.
