RALEIGH, N.C. — Temperatures were in the low 50s in Raleigh on Thursday morning, providing a refreshing taste of fall.

Thursday will be bright and beautiful, with clear skies and a high of only 75 degrees.

"It's the perfect day to be outside," said Elizabeth Gardner.

Friday will be a tad warmer but equally pleasant, with a high in the upper 70s and overnight lows again in the 50s.

The cooler, fall-like temperatures were brought on by a cold front. But even though the first day of fall, Sept. 23, is just days away, hot and humid temperatures will return before we settle in to a cooler pattern.

7-Day Forecast

On Saturday, temperatures will climb back into the 80s, but the humidity will remain low, making it feel brisk and pleasant.

By Sunday, it may not feel like fall anymore, as some humidity returns with a high around 86 degrees. Monday, the first day of fall, will likely be the hottest of the next several days, with a high close to 90 degrees.
