Ex-Hoke teacher faces indecent liberties charges
A former Hoke County elementary school teacher was arrested last week in Yadkin County on indecent liberties charges, authorities said Thursday.
Posted — UpdatedRobert Vaughn Carr Jr., 29, was charged Jan. 27 with four counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor, and he was released after posting a $40,000 bond.
Carr was hired last month as a kindergarten teacher at Upchurch Elementary School, but Hoke County Schools officials said they then received a call from someone in Yadkin County about pending charges against him. He resigned on Jan. 21 when school administrators confronted him about the allegations, officials said.
