Benson, N.C. — State Bureau of Investigation agents arrested a former detective with the Johnston County Sheriff's Office on evidence-tampering charges this week, said SBI spokeswoman Noelle Tanney.
The Johnston County District Attorney's Office charged Brian Clayton Johnson, 42, with altering, stealing or destroying criminal evidence.
He has since been released on a $5,000 bond, Tanney said.
