RALEIGH, N.C. — There is plenty to do in the Triangle this week!

Monday

Durham Village Holiday Market (The Rickhouse, 609 Foster St., Durham) - Sample independent food, beverage, and craft producers while you complete your shopping list. The event continues Tuesday.
First Anniversary Celebration (Transfer Co. Food Hall, 500 E. Davie St., Raleigh) - There will be a discussion and book signing with James Beard award-winner Rachel Wharton and, of course, food, drinks and dessert.
White Truffle Dinner (Herons, 100 Woodland Pond Drive, Cary) - This fine dining event will feature eight courses incorporating the most delicate and rare truffle in the world.

Tuesday

Open Mic Extravaganza (Goodnights, 861 W. Morgan St., Raleigh) - This event features 20+ comedians.
Joy of the Season (Meymandi Concert, Hall, 2 E. South St., Raleigh) - Join 170 voices of the Symphonic Choir, the Chamber Choir, and the Garner High School's Women's Ensemble as they ring in the season. Tickets start at $29.

Trashy Trivia (Woody's City Market, 205 Wolfe St., Raleigh) - Advertised as, "the most fun you will have getting dirty," this adult trivia game starts at 9 p.m.

Wednesday

Carolina Ballet's The Nutcracker (Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, 2. E. South Street, Raleigh) - Listen as a live symphony orchestra plays Tchaikovsky’s famed score. The Nutcracker is the perfect story ballet for the young and young at heart.

A Christmas Carol (DPAC, 123 Vivian Street, Durham) - This Ira David Wood performance is a classic in the Triangle! Shows run at DPAC all week.
Tyler Childers: Country Squire Run (The Ritz, 2820 Industrial Drive, Raleigh) - The singer/songwriter's music is a mix of country, bluegrass and folk.

Thursday

The Santaland Diaries (Theatre in the Park, 107 Pullen Rd., Raleigh) - This one-man show relives an out-of-work, young actor's brief stint as an elf in Macy's department store during the holiday season. See it at through Dec. 22.
Holiday Rescue Jam: A Benefit for Raleigh Rescue Mission (The Pour House, 224 S. Blount St., Raleigh) - Members of Urban Soil, Big Something, The Mantras, Walrus and more will host ab epic jam to support The Raleigh Rescue Mission!
What the Funk (The Point, 1626 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh) - Get your groove on all night with this funk/rock/variety group. No cover.

Friday

Eric Roberson: Music Fan First (Motorco Music Hall, 723 Rigsbee Ave, Durham) - The singer hails from New Jersey.
A Comedy Affair (The Cotton Company, 306 S. White St., Wake Forest) - Enjoy 70 to 80 minutes of comedy from multiple stand up comics.
Happy Hour No. 27 (Vert and Vogue, 353 W. Main St, Durham) - Rockstar chef Cheetie Kumar brings tales from past, the roots she's laid in the South and her artistic spirit to the stage. There is no cost to attend the event.
