Monday

Shape Up Chapel Hill - O2 Fitness is offering a free one-hour outdoor group workout at the Wallace Parking Deck on Rosemary St.
Learn and Taste Sour Beer - Experts from Bond Brothers Brewery in Cary will lead a guided discussion and tasting of the various different types of sour beers at The Glass Jug Beer Lab. $12 tickets include a sample of five 4 oz. sours.

Tuesday

Radiotopia Live - Enjoy extraordinary, cutting-edge podcasts on-stage at the Carolina Theatre of Durham.

A Night with Janis Joplin - Like a comet that burns far too brightly to last, Janis Joplin exploded onto the music scene in 1967 and, almost overnight, became the queen of rock and roll. Now, see a musical about her life and legacy at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts through May 20.

Wednesday

Market on Market - Downtown Raleigh's seasonal farmers market is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays. There will be grab-and-go lunches, produce, breads, cheeses and crafts and local merchants.

Thursday

Thrive NC Festival - Thursday and Friday nights, enjoy live music and mouth-watering samples from dozens of top restaurants at City Market in downtown Raleigh. The festival will also discuss pressing issues of food and economy, including childhood obesity and nutrition and access to fresh and healthy food. UPDATE: Friday night's tasting event is sold out! Only Thursday evening tickets remain.
Midtown Beach Music Series - Band of Oz will play a free show in the commons area at North Hills.
$1 Concessions at Durham Bulls - Hotdogs, soda and popcorn are only $1 at the Durham Bulls game.
Jim's Ole Time Hot Dogs, a stand outside a Lowe's store in Cary, offers people a chance to grab a bite while picking up home improvement supplies.

Friday

Light the Woods with Sound - Come to Dix Park for a first-of-its-kind sound and light show in the beautiful oak trees! Watch as musicians produce beautiful music and neon lights dance in the trees. This event is free, but registration is required.
