RALEIGH, N.C. — There is plenty to do the week after Thanksgiving!

Monday

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer (A.J. Fletcher Opera Theater, 1 E. South St., Raleigh) - Based on the animated television special, this wonderful holiday tradition speaks to the misfit in all of us. Shows run through Christmas Eve.
Pet Photos with Santa (Cary Towne Center, 1105 Walnut St., Cary) - Leashed pets are allowed inside the mall for photos with Santa on select dates from 6 to 9 p.m. Other dates include Dec. 9 and Dec. 16.
Santa Paws 5K at Dorothea Dix Park
Rodrigo Y Gabriela: Mettavolution Tour (DPAC, 123 Vivian St., Durham) - The Mexican acoustic-rock duo comes to Durham.

Tuesday

NC Chinese Lantern Festival (Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary) - This festival of lights is open nightly, excluding Mondays, through Jan. 12.

Irving Berlin's White Christmas (DPAC, 123 Vivian St., Durham) - Enjoy this timeless tale of joy and goodwill with glorious dancing and lots of snow at DPAC through Dec. 8.
Astronomy on Tap (Fullsteam Brewing, 726 Rigsbee Avenue, Durham) - This free event features accessible, engaging science presentations on topics ranging from planets to black holes to the beginning of the Universe. There's always time to ask questions and interact with the presenters and other scientists.
A Bull City Holiday (Motorco Music Hall, 723 Rigsbee Avenue, Durham) - 20+ local jazz musicians will perform new holiday songs and big band classics.

Wednesday

Night Market Durham (The Durham Hotel, 315 E. Chapel Hill St., Durham) - Friends and neighbors will gather from 6 to 9 p.m. to celebrate the season with festive drinks and gift shopping. Tickets are $10.
26th Annual Jingle Ball (NC Museum of Natural Sciences, 11 West Jones St., Raleigh) - Funds from ticket sales will go towards the purchase of thousands of toys for children throughout our area. All toys and funds raised will be distributed exclusively in Wake County.
20s Themed Cocktail Class (The Anchor Bar, 207 Fayetteville St., Raleigh) - Come learn about three prohibition style spirits and the cocktails they create. Ticket includes three cocktails and light hor d'ourves from Southern Charred.
Jessica Michelle Singleton (Goodnights, 861 W. Morgan St., Raleigh) - The internationally touring comedy phenomenon has gained worldwide fans with her live headlining performances from North America and Europe to Africa and Asia, as well as her debut comedy album, “Please. Don’t. Leave. Me."

Thursday

A Snow White Christmas (Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, 1 E. South St., Raleigh) - This witty retelling of the classic fairy-tale features Michael Campion of Netflix's Fuller House. See the show through Dec. 8.
Supper Club (The Wine Feed, 305 South Roxboro St., Durham) - Join us for a family-style meal for only $30, which includes a glass of wine. Additionally, choose a bottle off the shelf to share with your friends.
Mom's Night Out (Raleigh Improv, 1224 Parkside Main St., Cary) - This comedy show is advertised as an "escape for moms." Women gather together to laugh and will "be home to their babies by 10 p.m.).
Star Wars Fan Party (Boxcar Bar + Arcade, 330 W Davie St, Raleigh) - Dress up as your favorite Star Wars character to score two free tickets to see "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalk" in 3D at Alamo Drafthouse Raleigh on Dec. 21.

Friday

American Tobacco Tower Lighting (American Tobacco Tower Lighting , 705 Willard Street, Durham) - Starting at 6 p.m. Friday join WRAL's Gerald Owens, White Christmas Cast, dancers, local schools and Santa and Mrs. Claus at American Tobacco Historic District counting down to the start of the holiday season.
First Friday Raleigh (venues across downtown Raleigh) - First Friday showcases the vibrant art and creative community in downtown Raleigh on the first Friday of every month from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The free public event features a variety of local art galleries and studios, museums, and exhibitors that stay open late.
Handel's Messiah (Meymandi Concert Hall, 1 E. South St., Raleigh) - Don't miss Handel's exultant "Hallelujah Chorus" with the North Carolina Symphony and the North Carolina Master Chorale.

Light Up Main (downtown Garner) - Meet in downtown Garner for food, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus and a tree lighting.
Raleigh Little Theatre's Cinderella (RLT, 301 Pogue St., Raleigh) - This visually-stunning musical combines elegant costumes and scenery with singing, dancing, conniving step-relatives, and resourceful fairy folk.
