RALEIGH, N.C. — Food, fun and music are ahead this week. Here are our picks to help get you to the weekend:
Monday
Cooking for a Classic (1705 East, 1705 East Millbrook Road, Raleigh) - The first round of this annual cooking challenge kicks off Monday night and runs through Thursday. The event benefits The Lucy Daniels Center. Chefs are competing for a 2002 Chevrolet Corvette convertible.
Tuesday
Durham Mardi Gras (Motorco Music Hall, 723 Rigsbee Ave., Durham) - This annual celebration turns 10 this year! Celebrate Fat Tuesday at five different venues across Durham. Admission is free.
Mardi Gras at St. Roch Fine Oysters + Bar (St. Roch Fine Oysters and Bar, 223 S Wilmington St, Raleigh) - The restaurant is serving up New Orleans-style cuisine all day with a crawfish boil, King Cakes, Hurricanes and brioche beignets.
Mardi Gras 2020 Party at The Big Easy Downtown Raleigh (The Big Easy, 222 Fayetteville St, Raleigh) - Get your masks, feathered boas, and beads and head to The Big Easy in downtown Raleigh for some Mardi Gras fun.
Wednesday
SUMMER: Donna Summer Musical (Durham Performing Arts Center, 123 Vivian St., Durham) - She was a girl from Boston with a voice from heaven, who shot through the stars from gospel choir to dance floor diva. See the story of this iconic performer on stage at DPAC Tuesday through Sunday.
Fisher Wine Dinner at Washington Duke Inn (Fairview Dining Room, 3001 Cameron Blvd, Durham) - Enjoy a delicious dinner paired with wines from Fisher Vineyards.
Thursday
Yappy Hour (Clouds Brewing , 126 North West Street, Raleigh) - Every Thursday from 5 p.m. to close, Clouds Brewing will serve a a specialty menu for pet owners and their dogs. Proceeds will go toward a different charity each month.
Friday
Ultimate 80s party featuring Tiffany (The Ritz, 2820 Industrial Drive, Raleigh) - Celebrate the 1980s with pop star Tiffany at The Ritz on Friday night.
