Here are our picks to help get you through the workweek!
Monday
Eddie Izzard (DPAC, 123 Vivian St., Durham) - It's been five years since Izzard's last comedy tour. He will be going back to his roots with an all-new show "which expands on his own very unique, totally surreal view of life, love, history and his ‘theory of the universe.’" We have no idea what that means, but it sounds good!
Tuesday
JohnnySwim (The Ritz, 2820 Industrial Drive, Raleigh) - Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano Ramirez make up this songwriting duo. See them at The Ritz in Raleigh.
Bimbe Community Block Party (401 N. Driver St., Durham) - Enjoy music, community performances and more fun during this event at the Holton Career and Resource Center.
Wednesday
Bark in the Park (Durham Bulls Athletic Park, 409 Blackwell St., Durham) - Dogs are welcome at the ballpark during this special night.
Thursday
Live in the District (Park West Village, Morrsiville) - Enjoy live music outside of the Park West 14 theater from 6:30 to 9 p.m. during this weekly music series.
Midtown Beach Music Series (North Hills Commons, Six Forks and Lassiter Mill Roads, Raleigh) - The Embers featuring Craig Wollard and Stephanie Owens perform during this outdoor weekly music series at North Hills.
Friday
Got to Be NC Festival (N.C. State Fairgrounds) - This three-day festival kicks off at noon on Friday. There will be carnival rides, food and exhibits. Admission and parking are free.
Carol Burnett: "An Evening of Laughter and Reflection" (DPAC, 123 Vivian St., Durham) - Enjoy an evening with this legendary actress on Friday night. She will be answering fan questions and talking about her career.
