Raleigh, N.C. — An escapee is back in custody after running from police.
Aaron Leach escaped from an Apex Police Department vehicle, according to paperwork, just before 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Raleigh police and deputies with the Wake County Sheriff’s Office set up a perimeter around where the car was parked.
The search lasted about 30 minutes, when a police dog found the suspect in the woods around Mechanical Boulevard and Tryon Road.
Paperwork from the incident also said "the defendant unlawfully and willfully did resist, delay and obstruct Officer Spitzer, a public officer holding the office of Apex Police Department, by opening the door of the police Tahoe and running."
