I'm meteorologist, Kat Campbell in the severe weather center, a beautiful stretch of weather in the forecast this week were mainly dry. Temperatures are near or slightly above normal for the next week. Our normal high this time of the year now that we're in early October is 78 degrees. We're going to be in the low eighties through Thursday by Friday, upper seventies and then the hint of a cool down 73 the high on Saturday and this is going to be coming with a big cold front for us. A fall front on the way for the weekend. It's going to drop our temperatures down and bring some of the coolest air that we've seen so far this season, we're talking lows in the forties by Sunday morning. Now it will bring a small chance for rain with it. However, I think it's going to be a fairly low impact rain and the big headline is really going to be the temperature change with this front instead of the rain, but there is still the chance. So let's track it on future cast for the day. Tuesday. We're expecting high pressure to remain in control of our local weather, it's nice, warm, sunny during the afternoon. But by Thursday we begin to see a flow of moisture. We have this wind off the Atlantic and easterly wind and that brings the moisture in more clouds and it brings the moisture in ahead of this front because of that. We have the potential for some of these showers to push into the area on Friday and Friday night. And the European model even keeps some of the rain around into early Saturday. It's fairly light. It's not likely to add up to much, but we'll watch it. I certainly wouldn't cancel your weekend plans. Look at Sunday. Sunday is absolutely gorgeous. If you're a fall lover, you want to get out your favorite fall sweater, get the crock pot going on with your favorite fall comfort food. We're talking upper sixties for highs in the triangle Roxboro, near 70 for Fayetteville, Southern Pines at Clinton, full sunshine. It should be a gorgeous day and feeling more like late October as opposed to early October normal high to kick off the month, 78 by the end of the month at 68. Normal low in early October is 57 with a normal low of 44 by the end of the month and 3.25 inches of rain is normal for October at RDU tonight. It's comfortably cool. Low temperatures in the upper fifties to lower sixties and warm tomorrow afternoon, especially if you're going to be in the sun. It will be comfy in the shade but pretty warm in the sun with highs in the low to mid eighties at the school bus in the morning. That's when it will be in the fifties, but very shortly by lunchtime, 78 degrees and low 80 as the kids head home from school, maybe go to some sports practices. Looking ahead, once we get past our small chances for rain for the weekend, we're mainly dry and we see three mornings in a row with lows in the forties.
