Beach music singer passes away

General Norman Johnson died Wednesday in Charlotte at the age of 67. There's no word on what caused his death.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The lead singer of the popular beach music trio Chairmen of the Board has passed away.

General Norman Johnson died Wednesday in Charlotte at the age of 67. There's no word on what caused his death.

Johnson won a Grammy for the song "Patches.” He is also known for the hit song "Just a Little More Time.”
