The annual lighting of the Lucky Strike Tower on the  American Tobacco Campus in Durham on Friday will feature a new twist - acrobats.
The Raleigh-based AcroEntertainment combines balance, acrobatics and juggling.
They will be featured along with the multi-generational and multi-ethnic gospel group 100 Men in Black, the Victorian Carolers and WG Pearson Elementary and Middle School Choral Groups.

The festivities kick off at 7 p.m.

The first 750 people to arrive get a complimentary stocking stuffer: a light wand sponsored by Duke Medicine.

Across the street from the tower lighting, visitors can stroll through the entries for the Triangle Christmas Tree Challenge, where area nonprofits decorated trees to compete for up to $5,000 in prizes.

Fans can vote for their favorites via text message or by email on the website from 8 p.m. Friday until Dec. 18. The top three vote-getters will win prizes. An all-star judging panel will select an overall favorite on the final day of text voting.

WRAL News on FOX 50 will announce the winners on Thursday, Dec. 22.
