In ‘Becoming,’ Michelle Obama Mostly Opts for Empowerment Over Politics

FILE -- Michelle Obama holds the Bible used by Abraham Lincoln at his inauguration in 1861 as her husband, Barack Obama, is sworn in as president at a ceremony on Capitol Hill in Washington, Jan. 20, 2009. Their daughter Malia is at right. The former first lady’s memoir, "Becoming," is mostly about her childhood in Chicago, her marriage and her time in the White House, but she leaves room for some unequivocal criticism of President Donald Trump.
